For Sale: Battle Force 5 Fused Die-Cast Cars

We grabbed a couple of cases of die-cast Hot Wheels Battle Force 5: Fused cars when we found them available.  Unfortunately they didn’t include all of the cars featured on the picture, so we have lots of duplicates of some of these.

Right now there are more of these over on Amazon for between $7.00 and $13 plus shipping per car.

We’re offering ours up for $5.50 each plus shipping ($4.50 for USPS shipping in the US).

Here’s what we’ve got available:

Gearslammer

GearSlammer: AJ Dalton’s ride is what we call a “big bammer.”  The snowplow front and wide stance make it able to bash with the best of the Hot Wheels cars.

Syfurious

Syfurious

The one “bad guy” that we got in the case.  Syfurious looks really cool.  Syfurious is made with plastic “horns” on top of the die-cast body.  The body is painted a great red color.  If you do a lot of car battles then be careful as the plastic will break.  This one would work great for races.

Saber

Saber - Ready for battle

Vert Wheeler’s ride is set out in battle mode.  The Sabre looks good and races fast.  It would do well in battles and races, just like the real Saber!

Buster Tank – Unite and Strike

Buster Tank

This Buster Tank is the version from “Unite and Strike”, the season 3 finale.  When the 5 members of Battle Force 5 drive onto the platform to unite the Blue Sentient minds with their shells, the cars all change color to this “Tron” style of blue.  So far I’ve only seen the Buster Tank available in the US.  (There has been a sighting of this color scheme of Saber in the UK.)

 Reverb – Guns Drawn

Reverb

Reverb returns but this version has mounted guns instead of the snap-on guns from the “Season 1″ variant.

There you go.  Those are all of the cars from Battle Force 5: Fused that we’ve been able to get in any kind of bulk.  If you have some other 1:64 die cast BF5 cars and want to make a trade, email us or hit the comment form.  Otherwise if you want to buy our overstock and save off of Amazon, here you go.

Syfurious – Die Cast Car

We got a case of the new Hot Wheels Battle Force 5 1:64 die-cast cars in and it’s not the huge lot the case description led us to believe.

Our case included just 5 of the new vehicles: Syfurious, GearSlammer, Saber, Reverb, and the Buster Tank.  So: 2 brand new characters and 3 old characters but new versions.

Here’s a close look at Syfurious:

The car is the 1:64 die cast scale and fits onto standard Hot Wheels tracks.

The “blades” on the car are made of plastic and have a smoke or black coloring.  These are a fairly stiff plastic, but just like with the Zelix, they will probably break over time if the car is used in battles.

The main car is red and the paint job is your basic job for a car this size.  My boys have already had Syfurious battling it out with an original Buster Tank and the GearSlammer and some of the red paint on the front has chipped.  It’s not too bad though – typical wear for what we see with other Hot Wheels cars.

The car came in your standard blister pack with the Battle Force 5 Fused logo and Syfurious on the front:

New Hot Wheels “Fused” Cars

Mattel (finally) released some new Battle Force 4 toys.  The promotional images show a full range of cars in this run, but the cases that have come online at eBay (and my house) are limited to just a few of the cars.

In the cases that are “in the wild” I’ve seen the following: Syfurious, Gearslammer, Buster Tank, Saber, and Reverb.  I was hoping for the new Fangore and Grimian’s ride.  Maybe they’ll be in a future wave.

It’s a little disappointing that the first few released are essentially retreads.  There are already a few Saber models/color combos out there and the only difference with Reverb is this one is with the guns drawn.  The Buster Tank is just a different color scheme, but the “Tron” treatment is pretty cool.  (I’ll post detailed pics of that soon.)

Here are some pics of the new vehicles:

New Die Cast Vehicles – In Stock?

I’m seeing rumors now of some of the Season 2 Battle Force 5 toys being in stock.  I still haven’t found them anywhere online yet, but came across this picture at a toy wholesaler indicating it was in stock:

If these really are available, I’m going to grab a few sets and keep them handy.

These look to be the die cast (smaller) vehicles.  It includes all 5 of the Red Sentients, Grimian and Kallus’s rides plus the Splitwire and Gearslammer.

There’s also a Saber (Vert’s car) in battle mode and a Reverb with guns drawn.

Last but not least is Grindstone, which is the big bike that Rawkus rides.

I’ll be excited to see these – pictures coming once they are physically in hand!

Just got the Battle Force 5 DVDs

Woo Hoo! Got the DVDs

We got to clear out a bit of space on the DVR today because our Season1 DVDs arrived from Amazon.

These were quite a bargain – just $4.99 per DVD and we rolled it in with another order for the free shipping.  (You can get free shipping on all orders using the Amazon Prime service, but we haven’t upped for that yet.)

Volume 1 of Season one contains the following episodes:

  • Starting Line
  • Gearing Up
  • Common Cold War
  • Basic Training
  • Missing in Action
  • Junkyard Dogged

Volume 2 of Season 1 includes:

  • Behind Enemy Lines
  • My Man, Zug
  • Frenemy
  • Man Down
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Double Down

Goatees = Evil

Double Down is one of my favorite episodes as the Battle Force 5 team run into their evil alternate-dimension selves.  Unlike in Star Trek, none of the evil team sport goatees, but there are tattoos and 5 o’clock shadows.

Battle Force 5 Costume: Vert Wheeler

Vert Wheeler Costume from Hot Wheels Battle Force 5

You can find the Vert Wheeler costume via Amazon

We were looking for costumes from Battle Force 5 and found that the only character to have a costume is team leader Vert Wheeler.

The costume is the red driving jump suit with the Battle Force Five logo on the chest and the requisite “6 pack” that most superhero costumes have as a “feature”.

We were a little disappointed that we couldn’t find any Captain Kalus or Krocomodo masks, but Battle Force 5 doesn’t get as many viewers and isn’t as big of a franchise as The Clone Wars, so doesn’t have as much costume love.

What characters would you like to see a costume of?  I think it would be great to have an Agura costume for the girl fans of the show.  The Red Sentients would also make good costumes – they’re bad guys and not in black!

Season 2 of Battle Force 5

Krytus is ready to lead the Red Sentient team to battle.

We’ve now watched a couple of episodes of Season 2 of Hot Wheels Battle Force 5.

What we know: The Red Sentients are good drivers, but not that smart (outside of Krytus).  The BF5 team can “kill” them by cracking their shells (breaking the skin) but Krytus had set up “respawn chambers” to allow for the essense of the Red Sentients to be put into a new body.  Luckily for the animators, the bodies look the same each time.  ;-)

The first was a double-length episode: Ascent of the Red Sentients.  The next episode “Battle Ship 5″ followed the team to the Vandal homeworld where they retrieve a data log with a clue to a Blue Sentient army hidden or frozen/imprisoned somewhere.

Looks like the season arc will be stopping Krytus from releasing the Reds while the team tries to find where the Blues are.

New Blog: Big Blue Toy Box

This site is going great, but not the boys want to showcase lots of other toys including all of their Lego Star Wars sets, action figures, other cars, and more.

A Battle Force 5 domain didn’t seem to fit with that theme, so we started up the Big Blue Toy Box. We’ll review some toys on their wish list as well as stuff they’re playing with right now.

The site is at http://www.bigbluetoybox.com/

Battle Force 5: Fused Trailer

Season 2 of Hot Wheels Battle Force 5 kicks off on Saturday September 18th.  We found a trailer for the new season showing off how the “Fusion” works and rocking out the new tech.

Check the video here:

Unite and Strike is the call the BF5 team members yell out when combining forces to create the new vehicles. In the video we see the Skyknife: a combo of Vert and Zoom’s vehicles and also the Smashclaw: a combo of the Tangler and Buster Tank.

Krytus, the red sentient, has his own team of 5 with their own fire-spewing versions of the Season 1 BattleForce 5 team.

Buster Tank with Sherman

Here are some photos of the Buster Tank that comes with Sherman Cortez.

Buster Tank with the spinning flails extended.

Side view of the Buster

Cockpit detail (The Sherman figure is held in place with the clips.)

The Cortez brothers (Sherman and Spinner) drive the Buster tank, known simply as Buster.  This indigo blue vehicle is a heavily armored, six-wheeled tank.  Fierce saw blades and high-tech flails make this battle tank a force to be reckoned with.  The back of the Buster has a ramp where other BF5 vehicles are launched.  The afterburner on the back of the vehicle provides extra thrust when necessary, and heavy ramming is handled by the “The Shermannater 3000 Targeting System.”  (More info on our Squidoo lens.)
